Today we tried our hand at printmaking. The results were fantastic!

Aboriginal Culture plus community service and some collaborative drawing.

Day One during our Chevron Open Minds Program. We met artist Emily Pittman.

After a class vote, the winning submission was “Let it Burton Snow” which meant we had to get our sparkle on!

Today we were lucky to have a ventriloquist come for a visit. She used Meatball, a talking moose, to tell us all about the story of Jesus.

We got to examine artifacts. We tried to use descriptive language to describe our objects. We can’t  wait until Open Minds next week.

We all got out for a Winter walk.

Today we used a potato to try some printmaking.

This was a looooooooong pattern to create! Good work girls!

The finished projects look great. The students are going to write French sentences about their creations today.

Well, there is something to be said for my determination. Here are your Student Leadership Team members. Congratulations to all the competitors.

I had intended to post a photo of the three representatives from our class for the Student Leadership Committee, but alas technology got the better of me. Instead, here is a photo that was taken after our Terry Fox walk last week. Will try the Leadership photo again tomorrow.

We headed outside today for a walk/run around the pond.

These two gentlemen had a great time creating their video game using code.

Welcome back to school everyone! Here’s to a great year of learning and laughter.

The students shared some really interesting facts about their poets. We have just concluded our poetry study. We are now masters at figuring out similes, metaphors, alliteration and many other literary devices.

Here are just a couple of photos that I managed to snap. The students worked very hard on this production and I was proud of their efforts. Way to go, guys!
