Math FACTO Game

February 27, 2012 Dear Students, Parents and Guardians, This week the students will not have any Spelling work to complete.   Instead of sending home Spelling, each child has been given a Math game to work on throughout the week. The game is called FACTO and your child has already played it in class.   Today I gave each child two sheets of cardstock.   One sheet has a gameboard and the other has the chips that will need to be cut out.   The sheets are labeled gameboard and chips so that you will not be confused. Step One:   Have your child cut out the chips and put them into a baggie. Step Two:   Read the following rules with your child: Turn all the chips over on a surface so that you cannot see what is written on the chip. Step Three:   Player One takes a chip and finds the answer on the gameboard.   Player One puts their chip on the appropriate place. Step Four:   Player Two takes a chip and finds the answer on the gameboard.   Player Two puts their chip on the appropriate place. S

We will continue with our work on multiplication strategies for the next two weeks.   In the meantime, have your c
